Will this rode package work with my windlass?

Unfortunately we cannot answer this as the gypsy for each windlass is unique. Each gypsy will support a certain diameter chain which should be clearly specified in the manual for your windlass. If you are replacing a rode package which used the same sized chain as the one shown in this auction listing then this rode package should work with your windlass.

What diameter rope should I use and how much?

1. You should have 6-8 feet of rope for every 1 foot of water you will be anchoring in
and
2. Your rope should have 1/8" of rope diameter for every 9' of boat.

This means a 25' boat normally anchoring in 20' of water should use approximately 150' of 3/8" line.

What type of rope should I use?

Nylon rope is the overwhelming favorite choice amongst boaters because of its elasticity, strength, and because it is not buoyant.
