Description

Ideal for use in any anchor setup, this rode package includes Three-Strand Nylon Rope, 1 shackle connecting the rope to chain, and a generous amount of galvanized chain.

This package includes:

Rope: 200' Nylon Three-Strand Rope, 1/2" Diameter
Chain: 20' Hot Dipped Galvanized Chain, 1/4" Diameter

What diameter of rope should I use?

The general rule of thumb is to use 1/8" in diameter of rope for every 9 feet boat length. For example, a 27' boat should use 3/8" rope. Note, most boaters generally do not go less than 3/8" in rope diameter regardless of the size of their boat.

How much chain should I use?
As the main purpose of including chain in a rode setup is to reduce abrasion from the rode dragging on the bottom of the sea-bed, for most boaters, 15-20' of chain suffices.
